The play | Scenes from a Marriage

February 13, 2019

In the atmosphere of the attic of Bioskopa Balkan, under the construction of the wooden ceiling of the historical building of Bioskopa Balkan, a duo drama, Scenes from Married Life, by Ingmar Bergman is being realized. The story follows the relationship between a married couple, Johann, a professor of applied psychology, and his wife Marijana, a divorce lawyer. Although everything seems idyllic and orderly, viewed from the side, Bergman exposes the cracks and hidden disharmony of the couple by which he reflects his own experience of a thirty-year marriage. The series and film of the same name from 1978 are one of Bergman’s most loved and watched works.
