The Belgrade chamber ensemble “Metamorfozis” marked the beginning of its fifteenth jubilee season with a special concert at the “Balkan” cinema.
Founded in 2005 at the initiative of violist and artistic director Saša Mirković, the ensemble has been dedicated to performing boundary-pushing genres of art music since its inception, including new music, world music, as well as well-known works from the Western European musical tradition “in new attire”—in different, new arrangements and stage settings that represent a unique response to the contemporary moment, audience tastes, and global music performance practices.
On Wednesday, September 30, “Metamorfozis” filled the “Balkan” cinema with the melodies of Ludwig van Beethoven’s timeless compositions.
