Lightstorm is a kinetic light installation that was built in 2016 at the Linz Art University. Thousands of precisely controlled light-emitting diodes in combination with high speed enable various combinations of sound and visual effects.
In its first public appearance, this installation depicted the hustle and bustle of the digital age. Visitors had the option of standing in the center surrounded by aerial animations or viewing the installation from the outside. Later, the creators (Gregor Voschitz, Katharina Gruber and Laurin Dopfner) performed for the German Duo Funkstorung and went on to perform at numerous festivals, including the Ars Electronica Festival, Linz and 21rpm in London…
