As a prelude to the 20th Belgrade Dance Festival (March 17 – April 13), a performance by the Blanche Li company from Paris was staged at Bioskop Balkan. The long-awaited VR spectacle, part of the total of 53 performances, was seen by 580 people over six days. The production, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and will be presented to audiences at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year, is based on various entertainment scenes where participants dance in virtual reality. This technology allows each of the 10 viewers in the module to immerse themselves in a digitally created, non-existent world.
Costumes for this incredible experience are designed by the fashion house Chanel, so all participants wear haute couture creations of their choice. The performers guide the audience through the space to ensure no one misses part of the scenario, but everyone is free to enjoy the entertainment in their own unique way.
