On Monday, May 24, accordionist Vladimir Blagojević performed a solo concert at the “Balkan” cinema. The program featured works such as Good Wind by Ivan Brkljačić, Elegy by Jasna Veljanović, oKOLO in F by Dražan Kosorić, selections from the suite for accordion Harlequinade by Vladimir Trmčić, Lunar Dust by Lazar Đorđević, and F 31.1/F 34.0 by Dragana Jovanović.
Vladimir Blagojević was born in 1980 in Kragujevac. He graduated in 2004 and received his master’s degree in 2007 from the University of the Arts in Bern, Switzerland, under the tutelage of Teodoro Anzellotti, one of the most renowned accordion artists in the world. In addition to numerous first and special prizes in national competitions, Blagojević is the laureate of many international accordion competitions, with highlights including the Premio di Citta di Castelfidardo in Italy (1995), the World Cup in Switzerland (1996), the Grand Prix in France (1997), the Premio di Citta di Castelfidardo in Italy (1997 and 1998), the World Trophy in Andorra (1997), and the World Trophy in Italy (1998). He was a finalist at the “Chain” competition for all instruments in Warsaw in 2003.
He received the “All-Fellows” Foundation award from Basel for outstanding solo artistic work and the development of contemporary music, and in 2004, he became a recipient of the Friedl-Wald Foundation scholarship from Zurich. In 2019, Blagojević was awarded the “Aleksandar Pavlović” prize by the Association of Composers of Serbia for the promotion of domestic musical creativity.
Vladimir Blagojević is a co-founder of the “Studio 6” collective, established in 2012. The ensemble consists of prominent artists from across Serbia, focusing on the performance of contemporary art music. In recent years, he has been particularly interested in promoting Serbian musical creativity. Through collaborations with “Studio 6,” violist Saša Mirković, as a guest artist in other ensembles, and as a soloist, Blagojević has premiered over 40 compositions by Serbian composers, both domestically and internationally.
