August 29 – August 30, 2020
On the last weekend of August, we opened the doors of the “Balkan” cinema to the creators of the local street art scene.
If we look back to the 1980s, we can see the beginnings of street art in our region, with Čedomir Vasić and a group of students initiating a mural map, followed by Vladimir Veličković in 1989 and his famous blue mural in front of the Faculty of Philosophy. Today, we are witnessing a vital, well-organized, and relevant urban scene that is gaining more and more momentum.
As part of the two-day project Balkan Live, artists painted canvases, panels, and walls of the “Balkan” cinema, with all interested citizens attending this unique event.
The artists who presented their work were Sobekcis, Junk, Hesoyam, TKV, Dulait, Marz, Das Drogen, Nikola, Rage, Sensi, Wuper, and Super Timor, all accompanied by the musical support of DJ UVEQ.
It is an honor and a pleasure to support and provide space for creators of innovative, fresh art that uniquely captures thoughts and emotions in time and space.
