October 10 – November 10, 2019
The exhibition “STAYING HERE WITH YOU – MOVING” was opened on October 10 at the Balkan Cinema, in front of over 600 visitors. The opening was accompanied by six performances that took place simultaneously on different levels, for the first time all levels of the building are in use, revealing the beauty of the building from the 19th century.
Katja Schenker performed her performance Longing, while Branko Milisković intrigued the audience with a powerful performance of THE SONG FROM THE GRAVE [Stabat Mater] ONE MAN OPERA in his performance that lasted 2 hours. The concert Les Reines Prochaines (the next Queens) showed all the temperament and energy of performers Muda Mathis, Sus Zwick and Franzi Madorin for the first time in front of the Belgrade audience. In front of his stand, Samuel Herzog invited the audience to visit his island of Lemus – an imaginary island – which requires a visa. Sanja Latinović, Milica Bakmaz and Marco Nektan reinterpreted Alexandre Meyer’s performance called Vinil. On his bed, over which his video works from 1999 are broadcast, Dejan Klintsov included visitors in his memory space and enabled the audience to get closer and intimately involved in his work through conversation or rest.

Lara Stanić “Experience report”
In the presence of H.E. Mr. Filip Ge, Ambassador of Switzerland in Belgrade and other guests, a musical performance by Lara Stanić was realized as part of the “Staying here with you – moving” exhibition. A musical form that was realized with the help of a bell, a souvenir that is bought at the airport before departure, and is accompanied by the text of Lara’s husband, Andreas, who, as an emotional accomplice, follows the atmosphere on the flight between Switzerland and Serbia: “This city has something sublime. Flight too. All those Serbs on the plane, all those emigrants and returnees! And we are part of it. My wife is from Belgrade. We are also among the passengers who speak German and Serbian on flight LX 1416, operated by swiss. Arrival at “Nikola Tesla” airport at 2 p.m.
