ART Festival “Voices in us” selects performers who realized a series of independent performances in the Balkan Cinema. The festival program identifies issues and considers issues of identity, corporeality, closeness and community. It penetrates into intimacy and explores individual spaces, relying on the body, movement, sound, noises…
With their own possibilities, artists provoke the states of our sensibility, using different means of expression. Performances are realized successively, in different spaces and levels of the Balkan Cinema and through different dynamics. Branko Milisković, Sara Kostić, Marco Nektan, Grupa 04, Dejan Atanacković and Manja Ristić perform in the first two days with performances in complex production and realization. On the third day, the festival program relaxes through light and sound effects in the collective performances of Izvanredni Bob, Kīr, WoOa, Manja Ristić and Miriana Koleva – EUERPI, Umbra, Matej Rusmir and Andria.
Video works are an element of the festival program that builds on the repertoire of the artist’s previous experiences. Works like Body Prayers, by Sara Kostić, detect the social obsession with the cult of the body, which translates from the desired position to any position, while retaining the properties of obsession. As well as the premiere screening of the video work by Marc Nektan and East Princess Verlorene Gotter, to the Belgrade audience, in which the position of artists from Eastern and Western Europe is actualized through the motif of removing the Berlin Wall. That was it, Sanja Latinović’s project in the form of audio-visual portraits of seven artists through personal research with the aim of providing a better understanding and a clearer picture of the reality emerging artists face after completing their academic studies.
