20/20

November 3 – November 9, 2018

At the 20/20 exhibition, the Saša Marcheta Foundation and the Nura Art organization showed the audience the works of twenty contemporary artists in the traditional gallery way, but also in virtual reality thanks to the VR ALL ART platform. The history of art is filled with shifts in spatial and conceptual boundaries, different approaches and views of art. From the ritual needs of tribal communities, art in the service of religion and contemplation, through the need for decoration and enjoyment, art follows the course of civilization. Next is the need to separate art as a concept that is independent from the created, representative, usable, and the represented artists experimented within the separated space of inner being, mind and emotion, which leads to a shift towards experimentation with virtual space. Dual approach to space, limited and unlimited, real and virtual, it introduces the observer to a unique sphere of the combination of the new age of modern technologies and the traditional approach to the place marked by the term “cult”.

Balkan Cinema and NOVA ARTMOSFERA

The Balkan Cinema itself architecturally represents a cultural monument, and the 20/20 exhibition is an introduction to its reconstruction and translation into a multifunctional cultural and artistic space Balkan 2020. Visitors to the exhibition were also presented with the slogan of the Saša Marcheta Foundation NOVA ARTMOSFERA. This slogan is not just a play on words, it summarizes the mission and vision of our organization, which is to create a unique platform that will bring together young, creative people and offer them space, additional knowledge and means to create and develop their ideas, and present those ideas to the public , and thus create a new atmosphere. Although Bioskop Balkan will play an important role in this project, NOVA ARTMOSFERA is more than a space. NOVA ARTMOSFERA is the idea that creating a dynamic connection between artists, educators, urban planners, media, companies and the wider public is the key to progress and changing the cultural landscape of a country. The Saša Marcheta Foundation is here to offer a bridge that will connect these hitherto insufficiently connected social actors.
