October 15 – October 30, 2020
The May exhibition of ULUPUDS under the theme “Artistic Revolution” was held at the Balkan Cinema in the period from October 15 to 30, 2020. The exhibition brought together more than 117 authors, whose works found their place in the space of this historic building, curated by Ivo Leković.
According to the author of the exhibition, the theme of this year’s edition “suggests that the long-established myth about the connection between art and freedom is beginning to collapse, while art becomes a question of responsibility for the overall design of life, and thus the future.” Thus starting from the upheaval, which always strives for a certain freedom, in the end we arrive at responsibility, personal and artistic”
The exhibition was characterized by conceptual and media diversity and numerous original approaches by artists “in what are now everyday introspective artistic upheavals”.
A follow-up program was also realized in the form of a forum “Women’s artistic handwriting, does it exist and how can we define it?” The following spoke on this topic: Lidija Jovanović, president of ULUPUDS, Larisa Županjevac and Dragana Nikolajević.
During the ceremonial closing of the 52nd May Exhibition of ULUPUDS (Art) Coup 30.10. In 2020, 11 prizes were awarded to 3 selection committees that award prizes within the May Exhibition of ULUPUDS. The grand prize of the May exhibition was awarded to Marina Ranisavljev Kocareva for the work Where is the soul or Diary of a shirt.
